You clean your skin daily, use the right moisturizer, but it still looks tired, rough and dull? Although daily cleansing with a simple cleanser can (and does) remove pollutants, black pores persist and skin imperfections alter the appearance of the face. What’s missing from your routine to be effective?
Perhaps the most important procedure: peeling.
Exfoliation is one of the main steps of facial care. Our skin is burdened with environmental pollutants and makeup every day. Exfoliation is part of the beauty treatment and should always be a part of our skincare routine. The results of not exfoliating are visible on the skin, which appears:
Why is Exfoliating important?
Exfoliating the face is essential to rejuvenate our skin, as it removes dead cells, releases clogged pores and promotes blood circulation to the upper layers of the skin, making it able to absorb nutrients more easily.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) the procedure offers several benefits:
Natural or Artificial Peeling?
Desquamation is a natural, energetic process that is influenced by the physiology of the body and by internal factors. For example, it is known that the lack of essential fatty acids in the diet, such as linoleic acid, causes skin dryness and scaly appearance (natural exfoliation is adversely affected).
Artificial exfoliation, on the other hand, describes an “invasive” process in which an individual can accelerate the elimination of dead skin cells using an appropriate exfoliation method. Artificial exfoliation works from outside to the inside, while natural exfoliation works from the inside out.
Artificial exfoliation is particularly useful for correcting the visible signs of slow, natural exfoliation, for example, blur and dull skin, but also for preventing unwanted conditions such as scarring.
Ways to exfoliate the skin
There are two main ways in which physical exfoliation can be accelerated.
HYDROVIT Facial Peeling Cream is a double action peeling cream (mechanical & chemical) that cleans and rejuvenates skin, thanks to the innovative non-irritating form of salicylic acid and natural silicon grains. It effectively removes pollutants and dead cells, without causing abrasions and scratches. It cleans thoroughly, revitalizes, stimulates, and gives to the skin a natural glow with a youthful appearance.
Active Ingredients: Patented form of Salicylic Acid, Natural Silica grains, Active combination of Cinnamomum cassia bark extract, Zingiber officinale, (Ginger) root extract, Sanguisorba officinalis root extract, Vitamin B Complex (Pyridoxine, Niacinamide, Biotin), Hydrol, Hydrol Fomes Officinalis Extract, Threonine, Allantoin, Tea Tree Oil, D-Pantenol, Aloe Vera
How often should I exfoliate?
Frequency depends on the needs of your skin, how heavy it feels, whether or not you have clogged pores and the composition of the exfoliating product you are using. In general terms, applying a scrubbing product once a week is sufficient. In difficult cases, where the skin is usually oily, the process should be repeated twice a week. However, there is no right or wrong except undestanding the needs of your skin
After exfoliating, should I apply a moisturizing cream?
After applying the exfoliating product, the skin is “open” and exposed to external factors. A peeling process dries the skin to a certain degree, so applying moisturizing cream is essential. In this way, you lock the moisture in your skin, giving it firmness and elasticity. For example, you could use HYDROVIT® Select Day Emulsion as your moisturizing cream after the peeling.
